Increase ROI of your shows by promoting past, upcoming and live shows directly within the player. This is a fantastic way to give visibility to your full show collection that have a lot of value to give to the end user. This functionality allows you to create infinite customer journeys and loops by connecting different shows into a single experience within the player, increasing the likelihood of the user finding the products, collections, or shows that would be interesting and inspiring to them.

• Reduced Friction: You don’t need to embed channels on a page or try to drive traffic to that page. You can leverage the existing traffic that comes to any of your shows as an entry point to other shows.
• Increased Sales & Conversions: By facilitating a smoother customer journey and removing frustration and loss of business from customer journey dead ends, you can increase conversion.

How to get started (step by step guide)

Step 1: Enable the “In-Player Show Promotion” feature in the player.

1. Go to Homepage > Settings > Theming
2. Select Player settings > Promote Shows > select Enable shows promotion 

This is an important step you need to complete in order to proceed and now your player will be able to display the list of shows (channels) that you are interested to promote in your player.

Note: the “In-Player Show Promotion” button to also appear at the end of a live show, on the curtain, and in the pending curtain (if your channel is configured in this manner).

Step 2: Customise the look and feel of the “In-Player Show Promotion” feature.

1. Go to Homepage > Settings > Theming
2. Select Player settings > Promote Shows

Here you have a number of different customisation options.

Button shape. This option allows you to determine the layout of the “In-Player Show Promotion” button in the player. You have the option to make it a circle or a square with rounded or square corners.

Button border width. This option allows you add a border around the “In-Player Show Promotion” button and configure its width. If this is set to 0, no border will appear. 

Button border color. This option allows choose the color for your border. 

Button icon. This option allows you to upload an icon that you would like to display on the “In-Player Show Promotion” button. Please note that a play button is uploaded already as a default.

Background image opacity. This option allows you configure the opacity of the button. If it's set to 100% then the thumbnail image of the button is fully visible. Please note the image that is displayed is taken from the shows in the channel. If configured, this image would be taken from the curtain. If no curtain has been configured, it will be a thumbnail taken from the beginning of the show.

Display dates. This option allows you to display the date time when the show was published on top of the show tiles, within the drawer or modal of the “In-Player Show Promotion”.

Display products. This option allows you to display products that are featured in the shows, on top of the show tiles, within the drawer or modal of the “In-Player Show Promotion”. Please note only the first 4 products of the show will be shown.

Once you've customized your look and feel, next you need to choose the content that you want to promote in the player.

Step 3: Create a list of shows (a channel) to promote in the player.

1. Go to Widgets > Channels 
2. Click on Create Channel
3. Configure your list of shows (channel) by adding shows that you wish to promote. To find out more how to use and configure Channels feature please explore our detailed guide here. 
4. Once you are happy with the content of your channel, in the Setup section select “Promote shows in the player”. 

Now this channel's contents will be promoted within all shows that are included in this channel.

Note: you can create as many channels as you want and connect them to shows. For this feature in particular, we recommend that you include one show in one specific channel. If the show is included in multiple channels where this feature is enabled, then the “In-Player Show Promotion” modal will only display one channel within the modal.

Step 4 (Optional): Promote “In-Player Show Promotion” feature during live.

You have the option of choosing if you want to promote your list of shows (channels) in the player during a live show. To enable this:

1. Go to Homepage > Settings > Theming
2. Select Player settings > Promote Shows
3. Select Promote shows during live

Note: when this option isn't selected, the “In-Player Show Promotion” button will still appear at the curtain of the live show.

Now that this is enabled, you need to select the live show within which the “In-Player Show Promotion” button should be displayed.

1. Go to Shows
2. Select your upcoming live show
3. In the show set up page scroll down to Widgets 
4. Click on Add to Channel
5. Select the channel that you created earlier where Promote shows in the played is enabled.
