Engage your audience by sharing content they already trust—User Generated Content (UGC) from Instagram. With this feature, you can effortlessly import UGC, whether from your own account or from other users showcasing your products, and embed it anywhere on your website. This lets you display authentic, engaging videos directly from Instagram, helping to build credibility and connection with your audience.
How to get started
- Access the Shoppable Video product in your Bambuser Bam Hub.
- Ensure you're logged into Instagram by going to Settings and selecting Integrations.
- Once logged in, navigate to the Videos section and click Import, then choose Instagram.
- You can either:
- Import your own Instagram videos under the Your Account tab, where all your videos will be automatically displayed. Simply choose the desired video and click Import to add it to your library.
- Import videos from other users by searching hashtags under the Search Hashtags tab. After finding the video you want, click on it to import. Please note that you are responsible for obtaining permission from the content owner before using their video.
- Once imported, your videos will appear in your library and can be easily added to your website just like any other shoppable video. For guidance on embedding videos, refer to the Shoppable Video article.

Instagram Limitations to Keep in Mind:
- Hashtag Search Limits: Instagram allows up to 30 unique hashtag searches within a seven-day period. You can search any specific hashtag (like your brand’s) as often as needed, but only up to 30 unique hashtags. To help track this, a countdown is available in the product.
-
Recent Content Only: Instagram currently limits hashtag searches to video content uploaded within the past 24 hours.
In upcoming iterations, we aim to extend these limitations to allow access to a broader range of content.
UGC Rights Management Messages
We’ve simplified the process of requesting permission for user-generated content from creators. Once you’ve imported your chosen content, follow the steps below to proceed with the approval process:
- Once your video is imported, a yellow warning icon will appear next to it.
- Click on the video with the warning icon and select Request Rights from Author.
- A pop-up will appear with a suggested message. Edit the message to suit your preferences, ensuring you include the link to T&C (what the creator is agreeing to).
- Click Copy & Open Original to open the Instagram video.
- Open a new direct message (DM) to the creator/author and paste the copied message. The message will include a link to a landing page for the creator/author to approve.
- Once the creator/author agrees to your request, the rights status will automatically update in your Bam Hub, allowing you to use the content.
Good to know: Rights Management Messages
- The rights link can be accepted/approved by anyone, so make sure the only person who has access is the owner of the target IG account.
- Once a request has been approved or denied, the link cannot be re-used, nor can another request be generated.
Import Instagram Images as Video
This feature lets you easily import images as videos. The images will be displayed for a specified duration, delivering the same viewing experience as videos. You can set how long the image will appear before it loops or transitions to the next image or video.
- This feature now allows you to view all your images in the Instagram feed, and easily upload them to the Bambuser platform. You can also identify whether the content is an image or video in the Format column.
- Select the image you wish to upload and click Import.
- If you select an image, a pop-up window will appear.

Good to know: Instagram Images
- Multiple Selection: If multiple images or images and videos are selected, the duration will be for all images.
- Duration: An image’s duration can be shortened once imported, but not lengthened.
- Minimum Duration: The minimum duration is set to 3 seconds, as this is the threshold at which a video is considered viewed.
