Increase conversion by letting your users add products to their wishlist. This feature is fundamental in enriching both the website and app user experience. We are pleased to bring this functionality to our Social Commerce product suite (in both, Live and Shoppable Video) to empower your users to curate a personalised collection of products that pique their interest, while they are watching a show or scrolling through a playlist. This allows users to save items for future consideration and potential purchase, whether in the immediate, mid-term, or long-term.

Configuration Options

The Add to Wishlist feature is highly configurable, allowing you to tailor your implementation to align with specific business objectives and user experience preferences. This feature works for businesses with and without Cart Integration implementation.

Authentication: You can select to require customers to log in before adding items to their wishlist, or alternatively, use the "guest" wishlist functionality, providing a frictionless experience for first-time visitors.

Note: in the event where the user needs to log in to add items to their wishlist, you have the option to keep the video rolling in a mini-player (for Live only) or redirecting the user back into the player, to the very moment where they left once log in is successful.

Product Variation Support: This feature robustly supports different variant needs, where the you can enable inclusion of products in the wishlist at a product, colour and/or size variation level.

How to get started

How to enable the “Add to Wishlist” feature in the player?

  1. Go to Homepage > Settings > Theming
  2. Select Player settings > Product CTAs > click to Enable wishlist
  3. Follow the developer documentation to integrate the feature in your e-commerce website or app. 

How to configure the “Add to Wishlist” feature in the player?

  1. Go to Homepage > Settings > Theming
  2. Select Player settings > Product CTAs

Here you have a number of different configuration options. 

  1. Show wishlist button on list items. This option allows you to display the wishlist button on each product card in the list view, which includes both the full product list and the list of highlighted products. If disabled, the button is only visible when a product is expanded.
  2. Allow out of stock selection. This option allows users to interact with out-of-stock products. When turned off, out-of-stock items can’t be bought or added to the wishlist
  3. Show buy button. This options lets you configure your player to show or not show the “Buy”, “Add to bag” or “Open” button. When turned off, this button is hidden from product cards. Only the wishlist button is shown (if enabled). This can be useful if you want to encourage users to save products for later rather than buying immediately.

How to style the “Add to Wishlist” feature in the player?

  1. Go to Homepage > Settings > Theming
  2. Select Assets > Icons > Add to wishlist and Remove from wishlist (for styling the icon)
  3. Select Buttons > Add to wishlist enabled or Add to wishlist hover (for styling the button)


FAQ

Do you support a guest wishlist? 

Yes and this is the default set up of this feature.

I require my customers to log in before they add items to their wishlist, how does your player handle this?

You have the option to use the Bambuser log in prompt or default users to your e-commerce app or website log in page. For the second option we highly advise you to pair this with the mini-player integration, to ensure the user has the means of returning to the video with ease.

Do you support multiple wishlists?

This feature only allows you to add products to one wishlist, the selection of the wishlist where your users add the products can be configured on your e-commerce app or website.

Does this feature work on Shopify?

Yes.

How will it appear in the Dashboard? What metrics will be presented? 

Feature configuration/set up is done via code as well as in the Theming settings. Metrics for add to wishlist can be seen in the Stats dashboards.

Will I be able to connect this to third party wishlist software I currently use?

Yes the integration is agnostic to the technology you use for your wishlist.

Can I have only the “Add to Wishlist” button on my player?

Yes. This feature can be configured at a theme level. If you prefer, you can hide the “Add to bag” or “Open” button.
