Getting Started with User-Generated Content (UGC)
Transform your brand’s social mentions into shoppable experiences. Bambuser’s UGC suite allows you to discover, curate, and clear rights for creator content—all within a single workflow.
1. Connecting Your Account
To begin using UGC features, you must first link your brand's Instagram presence.
- Navigate to the UGC tab in the left-hand navigation bar.
- If no account is linked, click Connect Account.
- Follow the Instagram authentication overlay. Connection typically takes about 30 seconds.
- Once connected, the system will ingest your videos. This initial sync takes approximately one minute.
2. Navigating the Social Feed
The Social Feed is your command center for incoming content. It aggregates videos where your brand is:
- Mentioned in the caption or comments.
- Tagged in the post.
- Hashtagged (you can add specific campaign hashtags to track).
Pro-Tips for Discovery:
- Quick Filters: Use filters to search for specific creators within your feed.
- Hover Preview: Move your mouse over any video to play it instantly.
- Organization: Use the Hide icon for irrelevant content or the Save icon to bookmark videos for future campaigns or internal approval.
3. AI-Powered Curation
Stop sifting through noise. Our AI automatically analyzes every video and categorizes it into Top Rated (highly recommended) and Might Be Relevant (requires review).
The AI scores content based on four pillars:
- Brand Fit: Detects your products/logos.
- Shoppability: Distinguishes between a casual "vlog" and an actionable product review or beauty routine.
- Production Quality: Analyzes video stability, audio clarity, and resolution.
- Content Safety: Automatically filters out inappropriate or non-brand-safe content.
Deep Dive: Click any video to see the AI Signals summary, including a transcript (translated automatically if in a foreign language) and a breakdown of why the video received its score.
4. Managing Usage Rights
Before a video goes live on your site, you must secure rights. Bambuser offers two paths:
A. Automated Rights Requests
- Multi-Select: Check the boxes on multiple videos to request rights in bulk.
- Custom Messaging: Draft a message that will be posted as a comment on the creator's post.
- The "Yes" Hashtag: Ensure your message asks the creator to reply with a specific hashtag (e.g., #YesBrand) to signify consent.
- Tracking: Once sent, the system monitors the post and notifies you when the creator replies.
B. Fast-Tracking (Paid Content & Employees)
- If you already own the rights (e.g., a paid partnership or employee content), select Mark as Paid Content.
- Rights Expiry: Set a specific date for when the rights end (e.g., a 6-month contract).
- Auto-Unpublish: Bambuser will automatically remove the video from your site and move it to "Expired" status once that date hits, eliminating legal risks.
5. Going Live with your UGC content
Once a video is approved (either via the creator's reply or manual pre-approval), it is automatically moved to your Video Library. From there, you can add it to a playlist or your website with a single click, making the content instantly shoppable.
